Hello, all you internauts! The pre-sale of the Collector's Edition of Applies to Oranges ends soon -- if you haven't already claimed one of these beauties, now's your chance. I got to see the books and broadsides both last week, and sign them as well, and they are tres fabulous. The deckle edge on the broadsides alone is enough to make you weep.
I've spent the past five days or so in the grips of a post-AWP ague of some form -- lots of coughing. Even now, when I am on the mend, my voice sounds like a cross between Marlene Dietrich and a goat being stabbed with a poker. And my cough has taken on a curious high-pitched squeal towards the end, as though I had swallowed a dog's rubber squeaky toy, and were squeezing it every time I breathe.
This will not stop me, however, from attending the latest edition of the rebooted Ruthless Grip -- happening tonight at 8 p.m. at Baked and Wired in Georgetown.
My weekend plans also include making a pound cake. I freaking love pound cake, but I have never made one. Jeff informs me that pound cake is not really his thing, and usually I try to avoid making stuff he won't eat, but this time, hah! More pound cake for me!
