When Jeff and I returned home yesterday, after a week away, he found that my bean plants had created three large beans. Two purple ones (Louisiana Purple Pod) and one green-and-purple mottled one (Rattlesnake). The purple ones were about four inches long and the other one about six. I should have taken a picture but I ate them instead. It struck me that it is pretty unusual to eat anything as soon as it is picked. Veggies in the store and even at the farmer's market have been hanging out for a while. These were newborn from the plants. They tasted very very green.
